When the mountains are calling

… follow their calls on winding paths leading to pastures, impressive peaks and magnificent view points.

Walking across woods and flowering meadows, past splashing mountain rivers, to authentic huts and impressive peaks offering you a breath-taking panoramic view.

Hiking means more than physical activity. Hiking frees you mind, sharpens the eye for the uniqueness of nature, donates energy and satisfaction. How good that, in Hofern, the hiking seasonlasts from spring way into autumn – and proceeds on marked winter hiking paths even during the cold season.

The hiking paths in the surrounding area of our hiking hotel in Pustertal are particularly variegated. You may find steep mountain pathsfixed rope routes and seemingly endless high-level trails, as well as wide family-friendly pathsin the woods, perfect for children’s feet and buggies. From farmed pastures, glaciered 3,000 m high peaks in the Ahrntal and summit crosses in the Dolomites to the picturesque mountains in the three surrounding nature parks – you may reach nearly all highlights on foot (and eventually accompanied by a professional mountain guide).

The hiking taxi by the Tourism Association Kiens, brings you to the starting points of selected hiking tours. Furthermore, the association constantly organises a great hiking programme with guided tours.
